Welcome to Olcowhand's Workshop, where craft becomes art. We take immense pride in creating unique wood and metal art pieces that are perfect for your cabin, camp, or cave. Our expertise lies in crafting one-of-a-kind live edge and epoxy pieces, as well as stunning silverware sculptures. All my Silverware sculptures are made using re-purposed silverware from Secondhand stores. I donate to each of these stores every time I shop there, and I would encourage all to do the same. Also, several area stores display my Art: Uncle Ed's Records (Chase, MI), Brinks Art and Frame, Salvation Army and Cadillac ReStore. Stop in.
My journey as an artist began with a passion for creativity and a love for repurposing materials. I discovered my fascination with transforming silverware from secondhand stores into beautiful sculptures. Not only did this allow me to create remarkable pieces of art, but it also gave me an opportunity to give back to the community. All my Silverware sculptures are made using re-purposed silverware from Secondhand stores. I donate to each of these stores every time I shop there, and I would encourage all to do the same. When I find an interesting or unusual piece of Kitchenware, I try to think of a way to integrate it into a unique piece......
I enjoy creating Musicians, especially Guitarists. These move fairly fast, so I'm always looking for larger utility pieces to use as Guitars.
I made two of these, and they both sold to a married couple who loved to play Saxes together. One of these people is a High School Music Director, and said the piece was going on his desk
My Ball-player series includes Batters, Catchers, and other field Positions. This ensemble piece depicts some subtle clues to indicate why there is "Drama at the Plate"
I was so taken by the theme of the Life- size Bronze Sculpture "End of the Trail", by James Fraser- I wanted to try to capture it. I've been told that I nailed it. What do you think?
These pieces are so popular, I have to constantly have one in process to keep inventory.
Our wood and metal art pieces are meticulously crafted to be one-of-a-kind, making them the perfect addition to your living spaces or gift for someone special. All pieces are serialized, signed and dated.

“I just purchased a sculpture of a man running made of old silverware from Steve the Silverware Artist. It is absolutely beautiful! I first met him at the Cadillac Art fair where he had a sculpture of a runner with long hair. I asked him if he could do a runner with short hair and so he made this one just for me. He is a local artist out of Manton, and he drove to Cadillac and met with my husband. When he noticed that my husband was ex military we also got an additional discount. How great is that! I love it so much that I have just decided to purchase one for another runner in my family.”
“Olcowhand’s Workshop has a true talent for turning silverware into art. I was amazed by their silverware sculptures, and I knew I had to have one for my office. The intricate details and creativity they put into their work are remarkable. It’s also heartwarming to learn about their commitment to giving back to the community through donations. I couldn’t be happier with my purchase!”
“I have purchased 2 of these very unique works of art. They are so cool to look at and study how these various utensils could be made into a fun tasteful piece of art. Very conversational as guests comment with awe. We purchased a cowboy and a fisherman. I truly recommend this artist for individuality and creativity!!!”
